Disposable Micro Vascular Clip

This clip was produced in 1980 by Dr. Susumu Tamai, Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Nara Medical University, one of the pioneers of microsurgeons who succeeded in replantation of a completely cut thumb first in the world in 1965. It was the first disposable plastic clip in the world.

In Japan, it has been widely used for more than 30 years, mainly for reconstructive microsurgery.

ー Advantage of cut clips ー

  • The flexible plastic material can make possible to clamp the blood vessel firmly even with small pressure. And it is more tissue-friendly than metallic ones, so there is almost no damage to vascular tissue.
  • There are size variations depending on whether an artery or a vein, and each blood vessel diameter(0.2mm to 4.0mm).
  • Single type and Double are available, the latter one is used at the case of blood vessel anastomosis.
  • As it is a single use, it can be used always in a clean state, and there is no concern that the clipping force may deteriorate or be dispersed like by continuous use like metallic reusable one.
  • Fine jagged teeth are created on the upper and lower inner surfaces of the clip, and  when the blood vessel is sandwiched, they are biten alternately. This can prevent the vessel from deviating from the clip.

Nylon Suture Needle for Micro Surgery

Taking advantage of the sophisticated technology that had manufactured watches, it is possible to do all process from material processing to finished products, in own factory. The world's smallest level needle(2.0mm in length, 50 μm in diameter) can be realized.

On the other hand, USP 12-0 to 8-0 thread sizes are available and it can satisfy the demand of all microsurgery.


*Process of threading to needle,

First, use a microlaser on the back of the needle to make a hole, and then put a thread into it by a skilled craftsman's hand and carefully tighten it with a uniform pressure of 360 degrees.

By this manufacturing method and technology, the very clean finish on surface of needle-thread jointed part can be realized with no burr.

Therefore, when the needle passes through a tissue, it does not get stuck and very smooth suturing is possible. On the one hand damage to the patient's tissue is minimized, on the other hand it can realize to maximize the doctor's precise operation.


The product mount has an integral scale, which represents the length of thread as it is.

In case it is necessary to adjust the thread length in advance, it can be cut to a suitable length before taking out the product.(It is also possible to cut scaled mount together with thread)
